It’s Official: ‘Indiana Jones’ Sequel is Coming Soon

Date:

It’s official, Disney is planning a new  ‘Indiana Jones’ sequel movie.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy discussed the future of the ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise.

In 2012, Disney made a monumental deal with George Lucas’ Lucasfilm. Kennedy described the type of projects Disney now owns and revealed that a ‘Indiana Jones’ sequel is on the way.

In buying the company, Disney also got rights, for better or worse, to less-storied Lucasfilm properties, among them Willow and RadiolandMurders. A bigger prize is the Indiana Jones franchise. Kennedy confirmed rumors that another Indy movie “will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”

Kennedy’s statement is a much more optimistic version of what Disney chairman Alan Horn said last year. “We haven’t done anything,” he told Variety. “We don’t have a story. We need a story.”

While there is no official word on which actor will replace Harrison Ford, Kennedy and everyone else is thinking about writing a script and then focusing on the cast and crew.
