FX is in preproduction for a new serial killer TV series based around Jack the Ripper and the From Hell graphic novels.
FX is developing a new drama series based around the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, From Hell.
According to Deadline, From Hell tells the tale of Jack the Ripper with the killer himself as the main character. Detailing the events leading up to the Whitechapel killings and the cover-up that followed, the 572-page graphic novel is a meditation on the mind of a madman whose savagery and violence gave birth to the 20th century.

This new TV series was originally produced as a movie featuring Johnny Depp and Robbie Coltrane. But, the movie flew under the radar since the movie premiered only a month after 9/11.

Now producers are turning the graphic novel into a TV series. From Hell was once considered one of the top 10 graphic novels of all time. It came out as a comic book in the 1980s and late 90s.

FX is also currently working on an American Horror Story spin-off, ‘American Crime Story’ and it will Feature The O.J. Simpson Trial. FX’s most popular original series past and present include The Shield, Nip/Tuck, Damages, Sons of Anarchy, The Strain and American Horror Story, as well as the comedies It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League. Time will tell if this new drama will fit into the FX line-up.
