The TV spinoff ‘Edge of History’ of the show ‘National Treasure’ has been canceled by Disney+.
The TV series National Treasure: Edge of History has been canceled by Disney+.
The series was a spinoff of the Nicolas Cage-starring franchise and focused on a young DACA woman named Jess (Lisette Olivera) who tries to find a lost Pan-American treasure while discovering secrets about her family. It only aired for one season. Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, Jordan Rodrigues, Jake Austin Walker, and Lyndon Smith have joined Olivera. Additionally, Justin Bartha, who played Riley Poole in the film series alongside Cage, made a special guest appearance. No reason was given for the cancellation.
While Nicolas Cage didn’t have a chance to appear in the show since it was canceled, Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of National Treasure movies and series, hinted in August 2022 that they’re working on National Treasure 3 and in the script-finishing phase. “Hopefully, [Cage] likes it, but it’s perfect. So I think we’ll get it to him shortly,” As of writing, no further update has been given since his previous statement.
