Disney star Michael Mantenuto, 35, was found dead in his car after shooting himself.
According to reports, the former child actor starred in the hit 2004 Kurt Russell hockey movie Miracle.
Police found the actor dead in his car in Washington state. The University of Maine graduate shot himself in the head, according to the coroner.
The Des Moines Police Department released a statement about Michael’s death on Thursday.
‘Those of you that knew Mike will remember him for his passionate love for his family and his commitment to the health of the force,’ the release said.
Michael’s hockey skills helped him land the lead role in the movie. In the film, his hockey skills are put to good use as the film was about the 1980 United States Olympic hockey team. The actor starred in two other movies. The first was the 2006 TV movie Dirt Bags, which featured Melissa Joan Hart and Laura Bell Bundy.
The next movie was 2008’s Surfer with Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson and Willie Nelson about a surfer undergoing an existential crisis.
