Amy Schumer reveals she lost weight for her hit movie Trainwreck because, Hollywood shamed her into it.
“The only change was that it was explained to me before I did that movie [‘Trainwreck’] that if you weigh over 140 pounds as a woman in Hollywood, if you’re on the screen it will hurt people‘s eyes,” the 35-year-old comedian said during an appearance on “The Jonathan Ross Show,” which will air Saturday.
Schumer said she ended up losing weight for the role.
“I didn’t know that, so I lost some weight to do that, but never again,” she added.
Schumer has a long history of supporting body acceptance in Hollywood.
While accepting Glamour magazine’s Trailblazer of the Year award in 2015, Schumer famously told audiences,”I’m like 160 pounds right now, and I can catch a d— whenever I want, and that’s the truth.”
