Aaron Paul reveals how he struggled before Breaking Bad.
After landing a role of a lifetime in Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul went on to star in several feature films including Need for Speed, Exodus: Gods and Kings, and Triple 9. But before the hit AMC, he admitted to Stephen Colbert on The Late Show things were not going so well for the aspiring actor.
“Right before Breaking Bad I was just struggling to pay my rent,” he said. “I didn’t know when my next paycheck was coming, and I had to ask my family to help pay my bills, which is just so embarrassing.” He added, “I was mid-20s, had no money, and then I read the pilot for Breaking Bad and I knew I had to fight for it. And they gave it to me.”
Aaron Paul has a leading role in the Hulu series The Path, he appears in this weekend’s new movie Central Intelligence with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, and he has a role Bojack Horseman. Needless to say, Paul isn’t asking his family to pay his bills any more.
