‘Revenant’ Actor Shot in the Throat on TV Set

Brendan Fletcher was shot in the throat on set of Cardinal.

Working on set can be extremely dangerous…Just ask the parents of Sarah Jones who was tragically killed on set of Midnight Rider or actor Dylan O’Brien who was ran over on set of Maze Runner just last week.

But, another actor has joined the growing list of Hollywood celebrities who have been injured on set of a movie or TV show. Canadian actor Brendan Fletcher was hospitalized after suffering throat lacerations on set of the CTV drama Cardinal, which is now shooting in Sudbury, Ontario. From THR:

Actor Brendan Fletcher was hospitalized after sustaining an injury during a scene involving a firearm on the set of the Canadian drama Cardinal.

“Production was interrupted for one day and has since resumed,” the broadcaster said.

Fletcher most recently starred in the Academy Award winning movie, The Revenant alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Fletcher plays Eric Fraser in the six-part drama, which also stars Billy Campbell (The Killing) and Karine Vanasse (Revenge, Pan Am)Cardinal is based on John Cardinal Mysteries, a crime novel series written by author Giles Blunt. The series starts with a missing 13-year-old whose body is found in an abandoned mine. The show focuses on John Cardinal as he tries to find out what happened to the little girl, while coming under investigation by his own partner.

According to reports, The Ontario Ministry of Labor is investigating Cardinal.
