BOX OFFICE: ‘Deadpool’ Breaks Records on Thursday Night

Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool is breaking box office records.

According to reports, Deadpool broke several records on Thursday night. According to Variety, the movie made $12.7 million on Thursday night alone, which is the largest opening for an R-rated movie. The previous record holder was The Hangover Part II in 2011 which made $10.4 million.

Deadpool is an R-rated action comedy based on an over the top Marvel Comics character who is part of the universe of X-Menheroes, to which Fox owns the license.
