The Offer, from Paramount Studios, is a new crime thriller that features the making of The Godfather as its primary narrative. The official trailer was released today, and it shows how production begins on the series.
The series creator, Michael Tolkin, penned the script. The Offer follows producer Albert S. Ruddy, who is played by Miles Teller (Whiplash) as he attempts to produce one of the most beloved movies of all time despite having little studio support, shady financing methods, mobsters, and studio executives.
Joining Teller in the cast include Matthew Goode as Paramount exec Robert Evans, Dan Fogler as director Francis Ford Coppola, Giovanni Ribisi as mobster Joe Colombo, who called to boycott the film due to the way it portrayed the Italian-American community, and Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt, Ruddy’s secretary and right-hand woman.
