Sony Pictures is getting ready for 22 Jump Street sequel, ’23 Jump Street’ Starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum
21 Jump Street was a hit in the box office. When the movie premiered, it made $201 million. Many figured that it was mostly due to Channing Tatum’s growing popularity and Jonah Hill’s personal type of comedy. But, when 22 Jump Street hit theaters, it proved that the buddy cop duo is extremely entertaining. The sequel had the second biggest opening ever for a rated R comedy and would later earn more money than the original.
According to , Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are already on board for another sequel to 22 Jump Street. Ever since ‘The Lego Movie’ was a hit in the box office, directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have become top directors in Hollywood and can essentially choose to work on any movie they want. However, there is no word if the original directors will return to direct the third film.
The big question is whether Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will be back to direct the third film. I can report that they are overseeing the script with Rothman as producers on the third film with Neal Moritz, Hill and Tatum. The directing job is theirs if they want it, but insiders said they haven’t committed to direct at this point. (Via )
The only real question is whether or not the movie will take place in medical school or not.
