‘Wisdom of the Crowd’ Cancelled Following Accusations Jeremy Piven Assaulted an Extra

Date:

CBS has shut down the Wisdom of the Crowd. According to reports, the network has denied foregoing a back-nine episode order for the Sunday night crime procedural Wisdom of the Crowd, essentially canceling the new drama as the number of sexual assaults against star Jeremy Piven continues to rise. According to TVLine, Wisdom producers were informed that no additional episodes will be ordered beyond the original 13.

The decision comes just days after a background actress accused Piven of sexual assault. Actress Anastasia Taneie revealed to BuzzFeed that Piven groped her breast and genitals as he forcefully pushed her against a wall when she was working as an extra on Entourage.

On October 30th, former Playboy model Ariane Bellamar also accused Piven of cornering and groping her on the set of Entourage. In response, the actor issued a statement denying the incident took place, while CBS stated they were looking into the allegations.

Then on November 1st, Longmire actress Cassidy Freeman responded to Piven’s denial of Bellamar’s claims via Instagram, asserting that whether or not her accusations are true, the TRUTH is I know you. I know what you did and attempted to do to me when I was far too young. THAT I know. And you know it too.”

A third accuser, advertising executive Tiffany Bacon Scourby, came forward on November 9th, detailing a forced encounter with Piven in 2003.

It is important to note that Wisdom of the Crowd was not a crowd favorite. It premiered on October 1st with 8.8 million viewers, but rating dropped and to date, the show averages 7.4 million viewers. In comparison to other CBS dramas, it beats Scorpion, MacGyver and Madam Secretary.
