The Walking Dead are getting a permanent Universal Studios Hollywood attraction.
Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead is slowly taking over the world. Chris Hardwick announced during Sunday’s episode of Talking Dead that The Walking Dead will be getting its own permanent theme park attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood.
The Walking Dead attraction is supposed to open in summer 2016, and according to the promo for the new theme park attraction it will include zombies and locations featured in the TV series.
“It’s going to be located within a custom-built structure that will immerse guests within the world of The Walking Dead,” Hardwick said of the attraction. Greg Nictotero, the creative genius behind the show’s special FX, is involved in the creation of the attraction and the rest of the show’s production team.
The decision to create a permanent The Walking Dead attraction comes as AMC announced their plans on making sure the zombie drama lasts forever. In addition, AMC has created a Halloween theme park attraction based around the comic book series for the past few years.
