The Syfy Channel is getting ready to start up to begin production on it’s new series, 12 Monkeys.
The upcoming project is a drama series based on the 1995 Universal Pictures movie directed by Terry Gilliam and starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Nikita’s” Aaron Stanford and “Suits” alum Amanda Schull will star, while “In Plain Sight’s” Natalie Chaidez will serve as showrunner and Jeffrey Reiner will direct the pilot and executive produce.
Based on Universal Pictures’ feature film that starred Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, the drama centers on a time traveler from the postapocalyptic future who appears in the present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race. Filming will begin the end of November in the Detroit, Michigan area. The extras casting director is seeking about 400 people for paid extras and feature background roles.
Below is a list of their current casting needs. Several of these will be needed for fittings and more than 1 shoot day as some roles may be upgraded to principal performers. All are paid.
- Police/Security Guards
- Hotel Staff and Guests
- Cocktail Party Guests (upscale but not black tie)
- Scavengers/Survivors (Post-apocalypse. Not skeletons, but not “well fed” either.)
- Kids ages 5 to 12
- Medical Professionals
