(Update: October 5, 2020) Spider-Man 3 to film in Atlanta this Fall 2020.
Over the weekend, the Internet was shocked to learn the news Jamie Foxx is in talks to return as Electro in Spider-Man 3 after appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. As part of their reporting, The Hollywood Reporter noted the sequel is going to start filming in Atlanta sometime this fall. Previously, there were talks that filming on Spider-Man 3 was pushed back into early 2021 to accommodate Tom Holland’s commitments to his other upcoming projects. Apparently, that is no longer the case.
Spider-Man 3 is one of the big-budget feature films that were pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In keeping with Homecoming and Far From Home, it was supposed to release in theaters next summer, but it’s delayed until December 2021. It will be the fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe movie next year, which will be nice after the long movie hiatus we had to endure in 2020.
(Update: July 24, 2020) ‘Spider-Man 3’ movie’s release date pushed back until December 2021.
‘Spider-Man 3’ release date pushed back. Filming has officially started on the ‘Uncharted’ film starring Tom holland. As a result, the upcoming third installment in Tom Holland ‘Spider-Man’ franchise is going to take longer to hit theaters. Sony announced this week they are pushing back the release for the movie.
According to The Wrap, the movie was originally scheduled for a July 16, 2021 release date. Now, the film will hit theaters on December 17th. Tom Holland revealed in an Instagram video that production on the Spiderman movie should wrap by February 2021 after the conclusion of filming for ‘Uncharted’.
This news comes after Disney, Paramount, and Warner Bros. announced delays on several major releases including Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’, Disney’s ‘Mulan’, John Krasinski’s ‘A Quiet Place 2’, Tom Cruise’s ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ Sequels.

Tom Holland is eager to reprise his role as the world’s most famous Spider-man. In a new interview with The Inquirer, the 23-year-old actor strengthens his enthusiasm for Spider-Man 3, plus a few notable details about the film.
According to Tom Holland, Spider-Man 3‘s plot is “absolutely insane,” and he’ll be returning to set as Peter Parker and his new Lycra Spider-Man suit this summer. “We will be shooting “Spider-Man 3” in July in Atlanta,” he said.
He added, “Zendaya will most definitely be in the film,” to play Mary-Jane Watson, Peter Parker’s love interest. However, “as to the relationship between Peter and MJ, I’m not too sure what it will be.” The Inquirer also discovered that director Jon Watts will also bring back Jacob Batalon as Parker’s best friend, Ned.
Other news on the future Spider-Man film is unsurprisingly scanty; assume more bites of information will be revealed including casting calls, auditions, and other information once filming gets underway.
