Attention Comedians!!! There is an incredible opportunity for you: StandUp NBC is calling for entries! StandUp NBC is a nationwide search for stand-up comedians of diverse backgrounds that started in 2003. This initiative allows comedians from across the country to showcase for key players at NBCUniversal and throughout the industry. Top recipients are offered an NBC Talent Holding Deal, meetings with NBCUniversal Casting executives and an invitation to showcase at NACA for the opportunity to tour the U.S. college circuit. Success stories include: Lil Rel Howery (Get Out, Carmichael Show), Ron Funches (Powerless, Undateable), Tone Bell (Bad Judge, People are Talking), Hannibal Buress (Broad City, 30 Rock, Neighbors, SNL), Ian Edwards (SNL), Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder, Mr. Robinson), Eric Andre (Two Broke Girls, Man Seeking Woman) and Deon Cole (Conan, Black-ish). HOW IT WORKS Online Video Submissions New for 2017: Atlanta will be open to online video submissions. Comedians can log on and provide video links to recent performances. Submissions accepted only from July 8-23. Submit here: https://bit.ly/2oQEWxU Only 100 comics will be selected in advance and invited to a closed audition. All others are welcome to attend the open call on Saturday, Sept. 23. Regional Open Call Audition Laughing Skull Lounge will be hosting the open call on Saturday, Sept. 23. Only the first 100 comics who arrive by 9 a.m. will be seen. Comics will have one minute to perform at the initial audition. A handful will be invited back to callbacks later that day to perform a longer 2-3 minute set. From these, the top comics are selected to perform in the regional semi-finalist showcase the following evening. When: Saturday, Sept. 23 Where: Laughing Skull Lounge 878 Peachtree Street NE Atlanta, GA 30309 Semi-Finalist Live Showcase The regional showcase takes place at Laughing Skull the evening after auditions. The chosen few are asked to perform approximately seven minutes of material before a live audience. These semi-finalist showcases will NOT air on NBC, but rather are an opportunity to be seen by bookers, agents, casting directors and television executives in consideration for future casting and development opportunities as well as the Los Angeles Finals. Los Angeles Finalist Showcase Approximately eight StandUp NBC finalists will be flown to Los Angeles to perform in front of a live audience of agents, casting directors and television executives.
