MTV indefinitely postpones the Movie and TV awards.
As the world is slowly relaxing social distancing rules and regulations, the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic is still impacting millions around the world. Consequently, various events are canceled or postponed including award ceremonies. Earlier last month, Variety reported the Academy Awards are considering postponing the 2021 ceremony. Now, Variety reports MTV has decided to indefinitely delay the Movie and TV awards.
With no set date for the show this year, its organizers were planning to film the awards sometime between June and December. However, COVID-19 threw a hammer into those plans, causing MTV to postpone the show indefinitely. In relevant news, MTV announced plans to air the Video Music Awards at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in August. “We’re exploring with government officials, the medical community, and key stakeholders on how to safely hold the 2020 VMAs at Barclays Center on August 30th,” said an MTV spokesperson. “The health of everyone involved is our number one priority. Additionally, we are working on several contingency plans to bring music’s biggest night to audiences everywhere.”
In relevant news, two projects scheduled to film in Georgia this June are pushed back until mid-September due to the Coronavirus.
Tammy Smith Casting is the casting director behind many hit feature films including ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ and Netflix’s upcoming Dwayne Johnson feature film ‘Red Notice’. She announced on Facebook on Thursday, several projects, which were scheduled to start filming this June, is pushed back until September.
“I wanted to let you all know that one of the 2 projects I was scheduled to start this month, is looking to get slowly up and running (prepping starting in July) and hoping to shoot starting in mid-September,” Tammy Smith Casting says. “ know many of you need the work and we are not sure how this will work with the logistics of all the precautions with Covid-19, but I just thought I would share the info so that you know things are starting to stir a bit.”
