HBO is hosting an open drag-queen casting call for a new pilot, Mamma Dallas.
HBO is looking for drag queens for leading roles in Mamma Dallas, a new TV pilot created by Mike White. Created by Mike White – the mastermind behind Enlightened, Chuck & Buck, and School of Rock – the pilot is scheduled to shoot this March.
Filming will take place in Austin, Texas and casting directors are looking to cast male actors, models, and talent to work on the upcoming HBO Pilot.
According to Austin Chronicle, here is one of the roles casting directors are now casting for:
HBO Casting Call:
Male, 30s, open ethnicity. Liberty appears to be an attractive, sexy woman with a flirty side – but she’s not, really. Born Albert De Lorio, Liberty is a drag queen with an ebullient, chatty, upbeat personality, but she leads an unpleasantly seedy life. A life that she plans to turn around with a little re-invention and identity theft.There will be an open casting call held on Sat., Nov. 15, 2-6pm at: Bout Time II, 6607 I-35, Austin, Tx 78752.
No appointment is necessary for the open casting call, and people will be seen on a first-come, first-seen basis. If cast, compensation will be on the scale of professional actors.
