Morgan Casting is now casting speaking roles for the upcoming feature film Katrina. Filming will take place in April through May in New Orleans, Louisiana. Casting directors are looking for talent to work for one day on April 26th to play a Vendor. Casting directors are casting the following types:
- Male, 40s, this East Indian clothing vendor at the Atlanta bus depot hard-sells Katrina on his merchandise, but she proves just how shoddy his wares actually are…2 speeches & 2 lines, 1 scene. Ideal age is 40s, but we are open to 30s up to 60s & open to all South Asian backgrounds ( East India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc.)
Details surrounding the feature film have not been released. However, according to Variety, Ava DuVernay’s next movie will be based around Hurricane Katrina set in New Orleans, Louisiana.
“Hurricane Katrina is one of the most important social and environmental stories of our time,” said King. “Ava DuVernay has shown herself to be highly skilled at bringing intimacy and contemporary urgency to epic events. We have been looking for the right way to get back in business with Ava, and with David Oyelowo, and are proud to reteam with them on her original idea, which we believe will be a powerful film.”
