According to reports, the upcoming Karate Kid spinoff series will film in Atlanta, Georgia.
My Entertainment World reports a new TV series called “Cobra Kai”, the dojo from the 1985 film The Karate Kid, will begin shooting in Atlanta starting mid-October.
IMDB reports the new TV series will be set 30 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament.
“The series focuses on Johnny Lawrence reopening the Cobra Kai dojo, which causes his rivalry with Daniel LaRusso to be reignited,” the plot description on IMDB says.
The show will feature Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who will reprise their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence. The 10 episode series will premiere on YouTube Red in 2018.
