Julia Louis-Dreyfus has entertained audiences since Seinfeld. Over the last decade she has transformed lives, making audiences laugh endlessly. Now she embarks on her new project and second season of VEEP on HBO and casting directors are currently casting talent to be a part of the upcoming second season.
Veep Season 2
Veep is a HBO comedy series set in the office of a fictional United States Vice President. The series originates from the mind of Armando Iannucci and his work on “The Thick of It”. Hollywood eloquently describes Armando’s Iannucci’s work

“Imagine an even funnier, infinitely angrier and less sentimental Aaron Sorkin. Iannucci shares Sorkin’s love of fast-talking characters and quick-cutting camerawork. More, he’s a sublime political-comedy scientist who mixes swearing, anger and yelling with intelligence and cynicism, as well as vicious wit that floats to the top when the level of discourse calms down. Iannucci’s actors are like soldiers sent in to kill weak or sweet comedy. Not everybody can do that, especially at a network.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
Veep stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a former Senator Selina Meyer, accepts the vice presidential duty but, ends up regretting the position as soon as she lands the job. She has no real authority and is muscled around by the Senate, Congress and the (so-far-unseen) president, who delegates all the bad jobs to her.
Many argue that Louis-Dreyfus has found perhaps her best post-Seinfeld role and her acting exemplifies a true Emmy-worthy effort. But Louis-Dreyfus receives support from her all star cast. Meyer’s team includes chief of staff Amy played by Anna Chlumsky of “In the Loop”, Gary played by Tony Hale of “Arrested Development” and a host of other amazing talents.
The acting is amazing on the television series, and every episode of Veep wishes that the episode last an hour. But, with the second season it is sure that Louis-Dreyfus performance coupled with Armando Iannuci’s creative eye will create an entertaining experience for millions of viewers.
The series is created by Armando Iannucci. After a 2011 pilot the series was commissioned for a full season in 2012. On April 30, 2012 the series was renewed for a second season, and the first season won three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Veep features Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anna Chlumsky, Matt Walsh, Tony Hale, and Reid Scott in association with Armando Iannucci, Christopher Godsick, Frank Rich.
