The Louisiana film industry took over California as the film production capital of the world.

The state gained international attention when The Curious Case of Benjamin Button earned thirteen Oscar nominations. By 2011, Louisiana hosted more than 150 productions and $1.3 billion dollars of combined budgets were spent in the state.
