Briza Bohne

I am Briza Bohne, a zesty and outgoing Minnesotan, currently residing in Slovenia. I'm most known for- and forever hope to be remembered by- my love of unearthing and sharing explorative, reflective, and even evocative questions. There is incredible potential in what we choose to do with questions. Will we choose to have courage to sit with discomfort long enough to allow a new truth to wash over us or new ideas to come to us? Prior to moving to Slovenia and teaching at Ljubljana International School (LIS), I taught at international schools in Kazakhstan, Albania, and Bahrain. I loved being immersed in the local cultures and traditions (to generalize, Kazakhs tend to enjoy karaoke while Albanians love their traditional dances!). Working closely with families and staff to create and nourish community was a central focus, because for many of us, our school family was our home away from home. Full-time teaching elementary students is no longer the best fit for me. And isn't it a gift when we can be drawn to what's next! What am I interested in and passionate about these days? ?working with schools to implement parent and student feedback to strengthen community involvement and improve the overall school experience ?empowering education systems to bring greater focus to emotional learning, life skills and health education ?empowering folks to simplify and refresh their life by decluttering and finding everyday systems that help them love their home ?story-telling through poetry (my experiences as a Third Culture Kid Adult, as a woman, as a nature lover and deep thinker...) ?using my voice to bring peace (i.e. voicework for meditation tracks) I look forward to hearing from you and how we might collaborate!
