Upgrade for Mad Max Fans: George Miller’s Furiosa to Launch a “Black & Chrome” Version

Date:

Key Takeaways:

– Furiosa, part of the Mad Max Saga, may not be performing as anticipated but fans stand a chance to experience it in a new light
– George Miller has confirmed he’s developed a “Black & Chrome” version for Furiosa, similar to what he did for Mad Max: Fury Road
– The release date for the “Tinted Black & Chrome” version remains uncertain
– Such a release could have a significant impact on Furiosa’s performance at the box office

Despite Battling Lower Than Expected Performances, Furiosa Offers New Hope

It may be noted that Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’s weekend box office figures didn’t hit the anticipated heights. However, interest has been renewed with reports suggesting that creator George Miller plans to introduce an alternative version of Furiosa. Fans eagerly hope it’s a black & white iteration, in line with the “Black & Chrome” version from Mad Max: Fury Road.

The ‘Black & Chrome’ Theory: A George Miller Signature

Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road spin-off had two major incarnations. The original rich color-saturated post-apocalyptic movie version; and what came a year later, a black & white rendition, affectionately branded “Black & Chrome”. This latter version was closer to Miller’s intended vision, but the studio had rejected it at the time.

A Black & White Furiosa in the Offing?

With Furiosa collaborating with Fury Road, there exists growing curiosity about whether George Miller will employ a similar strategy and launch a “Black & Chrome” version. As per insider information from ScreenRant, Miller has already confirmed this in the Happy Sad Confused podcast. He mentioned “We’ve done it already. It’s the last thing I did on this film, and I call it ‘Tinted Black & Chrome’. I must say, it’s really interesting. It’s something more elemental.”

The Timing of the ‘Tinted Black & Chrome’ Release Remains Cloaked in Mystery

While the “Tinted Black & Chrome” version’s existence has been confirmed, Miller didn’t disclose a slated release date. It’s worth mentioning that the Mad Max: Fury Road’s Black & Chrome edition was rolled out as a special Blu-ray offering in 2016, following its initial release.

The Black & White Strategy: A Potential Game-Changer for Furiosa?

Given Furiosa’s rather disappointing box office performance, a “Tinted Black & Chrome” edition could breathe new life into its theatrical journey. The movie industry has witnessed success stories with this strategy before. The Japanese film Godzilla Minus One had two versions, one being the black & white variant called Godzilla Minus One/ Minus Color, which was later released in theaters and contributed to its significant success.

In conclusion, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga may deliver a surprise to fans with a possible “Black & Chrome” version. This alternate approach could also potentially bolster the film’s performance at the box office. Fans are awaiting more information on the release date, and the anticipation is gradually mounting.
