Sofia Milante

Sofia Siena is a young art student pursuing writing, illustration and filmmaking as forms of storytelling. Sofia grew up in an artistic household, which nurtured her many creative passions and led to her natural curiosity and open mindedness about the more “taboo” or darker parts of the world as well as the unseen and unexplained. Sofia grew up and did theater for several years in the San Francisco Bay Area, her hometown. Being extremely shy, she wouldn’t have imagined where she is today in her life; wanting to be in the movie business. But at 16, to her surprise, she fell in love with the craft of acting. As she discovered her love for screenwriting around the same time, she discovered her favorite genre: magical realism. When Sofia was accepted to SFAI as a Film major, she met and collaborated with Christopher Coppola for his personal spin on ‘Othello’ as an actress and a crew member. Her ultimate dream is to become an actress and filmmaker and be the youngest woman to win an Oscar for best screenplay.
