Denzel Washington‘s new Netflix movie “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” is now casting photo doubles in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on August 8th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Producers are seeking the following types:
- 1- Caucasian male in his 20s-40s. Suit size 38-42 and waist size UNDER 36. NO Arm or neck Tattoos. Put “FARMER” in the subject line when you submit.
- 2 – African American female – 25-35 years old. Dress Size 0-6. NO Arm or neck Tattoos. Put “MOM” in the subject line when submitting.
- 3 – African American boy – 8-12 years old. Shirt and Pant Size 12 or under . Must be able to take direction very well. Put “BOY” in the subject line when submitting
About ‘MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM’:
Denzel Washington revealed nearly a half-decade ago, his plans to produce 10 of August Wilson’s plays, which consists of 10 plays portraying the 20th century African American experience, from the early 1900s, just after slavery and the Civil War, to the 1990s, into feature films. He first started with the film adaptation of Wilson’s “Fences”.
Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is a 1982 play – one of the ten-play Pittsburgh Cycle by August Wilson – that chronicles the twentieth century African American experience. The play is set in Chicago in the 1920s, and centers around issues of race, religion and the historic exploitation of black recording artists by white producers.

Pays $200. Will shoot in the central Pittsburgh area on August 8th. Must be 100% available morning, day and evening since we don’t know calltime.
