Ashley Kotva

Ashley Kotva is an emerging dance artist, choreographer, performer, and teacher from Barrie, Ontario. She started her training at Dance Vision Performing Arts Studio, then onto Extreme Dance Connection training in various styles including ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, modern, pointe, musical theatre, and hip hop. Ashley graduated from York University with a BFA in Dance, streaming in choreography and performance, as well as a double- major in Kinesiology. During her time at York she studied with Julia Sasso, Syreeta Hector, Tracey Norman, Helen Jones, and Jennifer Bolt, to name a few. She has been fortunate enough to perform in various York Dances and Dance Innovations while being at York. In addition to choreographing her first piece "Pulmonary Connection" in 2019. Also in 2019 Ashley was the Assistant Artistic Director for the Dance Students` Association emerging artist show Bloom, and was the Artistic Director for the 2020 production. Ashley has taught various workshops and drop in classes for fellow classmates while attending University. Post graduation Ashley is now part of the Toronto dance community. As an Art Educator she is pleased to be taking her knowledge of dance to students in school and daycare settings. Ashley is lucky enough to continue growing her dance vocabulary while being a part of MM Entertainment. An entertainment company that performs at live events in a variety of shows including Belly dance, Brazilian Samba, Latin, Bollywood, Hawaiian Hula, Great Gatsby, Las Vegas, Disco, and Pointe.
