The worst drivers in Washington DC are actually school bus drivers.
The Washington Post recently conducted an investigation into DC traffic enforcement, and it turns out that some of the worst traffic offenders in the DC are actually city school bus drivers.
D.C. school buses racked up traffic camera violations. That School buses are 17 more times than the average driver in Washington D.C.
The school buses, driven by professionals whose job is to transport children to school were caught speeding and running red lights hundreds of times over the course of four years.
According to the Washington Post, DC uses only 750 school buses, whose drivers have been caught on camera speeding and running lights 347 between 2009 and 2013.
More than 20 drivers were caught on traffic cameras were also involved in crashes.
As a result of the tickets, no drivers were ever disciplined and they still owe the city around $13,000 in fines. The agency that controls the city bus fleet, The Office of the State Superintendent of Education, recently stated that they will be implementing changes that include the immediate termination of drivers caught speeding more than 15 miles over the speed limit.
If you are filming a movie in the Washington D.C. area watch out for those school buses because they are running red signs with a vengeance.
