‘Dont Mess with Texas’ starring Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara are now hiring crew members.
The action comedy started filming last May and production is expected to continue to film in New Orleans until July.
According to NOLA, “the film, which was put on the production fast track to take advantage of Vergara’s “Modern Family” summer hiatus, is described as a buddy comedy about a police officer (Witherspoon) who goes on the run in Texas with the wife of drug boss (Vergara). In pursuit: a legion of lawmen — and lawless men.”
The project was first to be produced by Universal Studios, but was later sold to MGM last year.
Currently, Reese Witherspoon‘s is producing “Don’t Mess with Texas” along with Dana Fox and Bruna Papandrea under Pacific Standard production.
The film is technically, untitled, so expect a new title in the future. The feature film is reportedly due for a release on May 8, 2015 on Mother’s Day weekend next year.
This is one of several feature films currently filming this summer in New Orleans, Louisiana, including “Terminator: Genesis” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Kristen Stewart action comedy “American Ultra” and the Jurassic Park sequel, “Jurassic World“.
