Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 4 is here and it is pretty damn amazing.
When Kanye West announced that he would be holding an open casting call for Yeezy Season 4 during New York Fashion Week, everyone was excited. However, when the casting call was only for “multiracial” models, people were pissed. In fact, one woman showed up to the open casting call topless protesting.
I’m 2 weeks post surgery and I waited 6 hours for a casting I wasn’t even let in for @kanyewest

However, Kanye West sat down with Vogue about his upcoming collection and his controversial “multiracial” model casting call. Kanye says he wants to continue his military-inspired collections, adding more army stylie pieces and neutral colors.
“I want to make pieces that can be timeless,” he said. “Pieces that you can pick up out of a vintage store in 20 years and say, ‘Wow, I’m happy I have this.'”
He also explained that his latest collection was inspired by the California city where he lives with his family, Calabasas.
“I think it’s about embracing where me and my family live, where my kids are growing up, embracing the attitude and style of the Valley,” he said.
Kanye also discussed his thoughts on the controversy surrounding the Yeezy Season 4 model casting. Many fans believed it was a way to leave out black women from participating in his fashion show.
“The ten thousand people that showed up didn’t have a problem with it,” he told Vogue. He explained that the concept came out of a conversation with his longtime collaborator Vanessa Beecroft, and that it was not meant to exclude black women. “How do you word the idea that you want all variations of black?” he said. “How do you word that exactly?”
Kanye went on to explain that he was planning on opening 200 stores with his partnership with adidas in the next year. “I’m very focused on trying to make things far more affordable, far more beautiful, and for far more people.”
Despite Kanye West’s optimism about his clothing collection, and casting call controversy. Many people took to Twitter to bash the rapper/fashion designer on Twitter.
