Donald Glover’s FX ‘Atlanta’ is ramping up production with a return for season three and four in 2021.
According to Variety, the network’s chairman, John Landgraf, announced the news during the Television Critics Association press tour, saying that the first set of episodes of FX’s Atlanta would hit FX in January 2021.
Landgraf explains the upcoming season is “part one and part two” for a new era of the show. The first part will have ten episodes, while the second, which FX will release fall 2021, will have eight. The series’ location will be throughout Atlanta, and there will also be scenes that were shot “outside the U.S.,” Landgraf explains.
“As long as Donald wants to make more ‘Atlanta,’ I’m down for that. But it’s his choice,” he said.
