CBS Renews 23 TV Shows for 2020-2021 TV Season

CBS renews 23 total TV for the 2020-2021 TV season.

“Thanks to these exceptional shows, we're going to win the current season by 1 million viewers,” declared CBS president Kelly Kahl in a statement. “Next year, we'll have these strong returning series as our foundation…and Super Bowl LV too. It's a well-balanced lineup across Entertainment, News and that will put us in an incredibly stable position for 2020-2021.”

The shows renewed to include the following:

  1. NCIS
  2. NCIS: Los Angeles
  3. 60 Minutes
  4. All Rise
  5. Bob Hearts ABishola
  6. The Unicorn
  7. S.W.A.T.
  8. Bull
  9. SEAL Team
  10. MacGyver
  11. FBI
  12. FBI Most Wanted
  13. The Neighborhood
  14. Magnum P.I.
  15. 48 Hours
  16. Undercover Boss
  17. Young Sheldon
  18. Mom
  19. Survivor
  20. The Amazing Race
  21. Evil

Meanwhile, “God Friended Me,” “Carol's Second Act,” “Broke,” “Tommy,” “Many With a Plan” have all been canceled.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic impacting in Hollywood, CBS is expected to bring back most of their shows, including shows with low ratings. Currently, it is unknown when production will resume for the shows and what kind of impact it will have when the shows air.

In relevant news, background actors are at risk of not returning to the film industry once the Coronavirus related Hollywood shutdown is lifted.

According to a new report by Deadline, background , whose job is to make scenes more realistic, may not return once start filming. Many recommendations for safety protocols during the Coronavirus pandemic were released. Nearly the common denominator among all of the recommendation lists is to get rid of large crowd scenes of background extras, or replacing extras with members on set. Necessarily, the new safety sets are only to have essential staff working on set.
