Will Smith, Kevin Hart to Star in ‘Planes, Trains & Automobiles’ Remake

Will Smith and Kevin Hart are teaming up to produce a remake of the 1987 Paramount Pictures “Planes, Trains & Automobiles”.

The original movie was directed by John Hughes and starred Steve Martin and John Candy as two businessmen trying to get home for Thanksgiving. The remake will be a modern version of the original with Smith and Hart playing characters who are forced to team up to overcome travel issues to get home to their loved ones.

Hart's HartBeat Productions and Smith's Westbrook Studios, are developing the remake. Aeysha Carr from Brooklyn 99 will write the screenplay and will make her feature film debut.

Smith most recently appeared in Bad Boys For , which filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. He's now working on King Richard, where he plays as the father of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams. Hart recently appears in : The Next Level and wrapped production on Fatherhood, which is an upcoming drama for Sony Pictures.
