What is the plot of MacGruber?
The action-comedy is based on the Saturday Night Live sketch that poked fun at MacGyver, and the 2010 movie of the same name. Since then, the sketch has become a cult classic.
The TV series will premiere on the Peacock streaming service.
The series follows MacGruber after getting released from prison following a brutal 10-year stretch behind bars. His mission is to get revenge against a mysterious villain from his past — Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. MacGruber must defeat the forces of evil.
Mike Forte will write and executive produce the MacGruber series, which comes from Universal Television and Broadway Video, and reunites the original creative team behind the camera.
Jorma Taccone is back to direct and executive produce with Saturday Night Live boss Lorne Michaels, John Goldwyn, Andrew Singer, Erin David, and John Solomon.
MacGruber will air on Peacock in 2021, and that’s one countdown we’re actually looking forward to.
