Sandler stars as a former professional basketball scout in this comedy about pursuing your dreams after being laid off who then discovers a phenomenal talent overseas. The movie investigates the lengths that both Sandler’s character Stanley Beren, and the player Bo Cruz, portrayed by Juancho Hernangómez, have to go through in order to get into the NBA and become an All-Star in America. The trailer shows Stanley giving a dramatic pep talk to Cruz, making sure that he truly loves the game, or else there is no point in moving forward in their partnership.
Sandler, who has been a long-time fan of the sport of basketball and is known for his regular pickup games, will star alongside Queen Latifah, Robert Duvall, and Ben Foster. The film is produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Company.
Hustle arrives on Netflix on June 10.
