Producers are seeking and hiring the following types:

Grandma

  • Principal
  • Non Union 
  • Female 65 – 80
  • She immigrated from China because of her kids and grandkids. Not because she wants to live in America. She has adapted to some degree but holds on to many of the values, customs and traditions of her homeland. The MATRIARCH of the family, stern, strong, emotions are to be kept inside. Grandkids should speak Mandarin, unacceptable that they do not. The entire family looks up to her. Must be able to deliver some lines in Mandarin

Younger Sister- Chinese/Taiwanese actors 

  • Principal
  • Non Union 
  • Female 9 – 12
  • The Younger Sister is a smart-ass type who is also very eager to help. She has a warm smile and a mischievous side to her. Chinese/Taiwanese actors – You do not need to deliver lines in Mandarin

Dad – Chinese/Taiwanese actors

  • Principal
  • Non Union 
  • Male 45 – 55
  • The Dad needs to look stern, but also have a warm smile. Immigrant from China, they have come to the States for a better life. Educated in China, but forced to work blue collar in the states. Chinese/Taiwanese actors – Must be able to deliver some lines in Mandarin

Mom – Chinese/Taiwanese actors

  • Principal
  • Non Union 
  • Female 45 – 55
  • The Mom is the key player in this story; she needs to toil with the love she has for her son and her relationship with her mother. Quiet, reserved, loving. One look easily shows her emotions. Smile shows her warmth, a stare shows her disappointment or anger. Immigrant from China, they have come to the States for a better life. Chinese/Taiwanese actors – Must be able to deliver some lines in Mandarin

Son/Daughter – Chinese/Taiwanese actors

  • Principal
  • Non Union 
  • Any Gender 16 – 20
  • A young son/daughter comes out to his disapproving family, but it turns out they’re just helping him/her practice for someone else. His/her grandmother. Typical teenager. Studious, but loves to play video games. Was forced to play piano at a young age and begged Mom in JR High to quit and try American sports though he is not athletic, purely to fit in (from a racial pov and hide he/she was gay). Born in the US to immigrant parents or was a baby in China and brought here. Chinese/Taiwanese actors – Must be able to deliver some lines in Mandarin

Casting announcement: Non-union talent for OREO internet commercial

Conflicts: no exclusivity

Usage – worldwide internet unlimited versions, no exclusivity, for one year, 2nd & 3rd year pre-negotiated options, Industrial in perpetuity (for showreels/awards submissions)/

Payment: $800 session fee, $500 rehearsal, $250 fitting, $4000 usage, and 20% agency fee. Usage is based on being cut into the final spot.         

Project Synopsis

A young man/woman comes out to their family, but it turns out they’re just helping them practice for someone else. Coming out to grandma. We’re looking for actors with incredible range, going from one emotion to another with a blink of an eye.They need to play dual roles convincingly. A dad that looks stern but has a warm smile. A smart-ass sister who is really eager to help. And the mother, the key player of the story, who needs to toil with the love she has for her son and her relationship with her mother.
