On Monday, Netflix debuted Wednesday’s first preview for its Addams Family spinoff series.
They revealed the series on the first day of Netflix’s Geeked Week. Although little is known about the show in the 30-second teaser, it has been confirmed that Jenna Ortega will play Wednesday. Tim Burton will direct and executive produce the series, his first major television project, and his foreboding aesthetic will most likely be on display.
The eight-episode series will start Wednesday, who will attend Nevermore Academy.
“Wednesday is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting 16-year-old Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Season One will follow Wednesday as she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”
