The name “Joker: Folie a Deux” is quite clever since it refers to both shared psychotic illness medically speaking, which is what happens to Gotham’s citizens when the Joker appears, and the words “Deux” alone, which means “two.” The script also reveals that the draft was revised more briefly than a month ago, on May 18.

The Joker is an American psychological thriller film directed and produced by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker and provides a possible origin story for the character. Principal photography began in September 2018 in New York City, United States.
The film is by Warner Bros. Pictures and produced by DC Films, Joint Effort, and Bron Studios. Phillips served as a co-producer on the film.
Phoenix described his approach to the role as “not doing an impersonation” of previous Jokers, but instead finding an internal verisimilitude.
