The story follows the aftermath of Black Adam’s release from his earthly tomb, chronicled in the film by James Collet-Serra based on a script written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani. After 5,000 years imprisoned for bestowing Shazam with the power of God five millennia ago and being immediately trapped, Black Adam is poised to “unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world,” according to DC.
The hero will also encounter members of the Justice Society of America, who will try to stop Black Adams’ plans. The hero cast will include Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu are also part of the cast.
The DC Extended Universe will get its first live-action feature with a new DCEU iteration: Black Adam. The film will be released in cinemas on October 21.
