HBO’s ‘Lovecraft Country’s Jonathan Major could play Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate ’48 Hours in Vegas’
Jonathan Majors is an American actor. He is known for his roles in The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Da 5 Bloods, and Hostiles. He also starred in the HBO series Lovecraft Country. According to reports, Jonathan Majors is now being considered for the role of Dennis Rodman in 48 Hours in Vegas. The project is in development at Lionsgate, which acquired the rights from the NBA icon more than a year ago.
Dennis Rodman’s notorious trip to Las Vegas with a “skittish assistant GM” for the Chicago Bulls during the 1998 NBA Finals is the subject of The Last 48 Hours in Vegas. Despite his two-day trip to Las Vegas, Rodman was able help the Bulls led by Michael Jordan secure their third NBA Championship in a row.
“There’s only one Dennis Rodman,” said Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group President, Nathan Kahane. “In 1998, there was nobody on Earth who’d be more fun – or maybe more dangerous – to party with. And yet that’s not even half of who he is. This movie takes you on an unforgettable ride with the myth, the legend, and also the man that Dennis is, behind everything you think you know.”
Most recently, Dennis Rodman’s trip to Las Vegas was featured in the 2020 docuseries The Last Dance. This series followed Michael Jordan’s time with the Chicago Bulls during the 1990s.
Dennis Rodman is a former professional basketball player who played for the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, and Dallas Mavericks. He was known for his rebounding abilities, defensive skills, and flamboyant personality. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.
