The Direct reported that Daniel Richtman, an insider, said on his Patreon account that Marvel is looking for someone to play a major villain in the MCU. We are looking for a leading male actor between 30 and 50 to play our villain. He should be able to convincingly play an evil Superman-like character that is conflicted and powerful. This role is most like Sentry in the MCU–he’s set to debut in the upcoming film, Thunderbolts.
Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee created the Sentry in the 2000s. He is known as Robert Reynolds in the MCU, who gained potent abilities after taking an experimental serum. If rumors are to be believed, Ryan Gosling revealed this summer that he would love to join the MCU as Ghost Rider. Only time will tell if his dream comes true.
Marvel has not confirmed whether the rumor is true.
