$7,000+ Tech Company Commercial Casting Call
Ad campaign by innovative ad agency Droga5 for a MAJOR TECH COMPANY. Please read the following information carefully:
Do you or does someone you know have a quirky hobby? Are you a jack/jane of all trades, master of none? Do you have an off-beat hidden talent? We are casting people ages 18-25 (GEN-Z) with great personalities and a surprisingly wide range of interests who connect to their communities through various social media platforms.
We are currently collecting submissions and self tapes from candidates. After talent are selected from those materials, there will be two phases to this project:
- The first phase is a 3 hour on camera interview with the client for which you will be paid $250. If this interview footage is used in the final campaign, you will be paid an additional $2,000.
- In the second phase, select talent will be chosen from the interviews as cast for the final campaign, and some of those cast members will be shooting additional footage featuring their hobbies. Those talent, who have the extra shoot day, will receive an extra $600 for a 12 hour shoot and $5,000 if their footage makes the final campaign.
- Anyone who does both the shoot and the interview will make combined rates.

Shoot Dates:
- On camera interviews (between January 6-13)
- Additional shoot (between January 23 – Feb. 3)
- Age Range: 18-25
- Union Status: NON-UNION
- Gender: Any
- Extra specs: Seeking all ethnicities/income backgrounds/body types and abilities
Rate / You will be paid:
On camera interview:
Session fee: $250 per 3 hr day
Usage fee: $2,000 if your interview footage makes the final campaign
Shoot:
- Session fee: $600 per 12 hr day
- Usage fee: $5,000 if your shoot footage makes the final campaign
**rates will be combined for anyone who does both the shoot and the interview**
Exclusivity: Social Media Platforms, Mobile Communication Apps, Software and Gaming (incl. AR/VR Hardware) and for Technology companies. We cannot consider talent who have done ads in any of these sectors, and the advertiser of this commercial also holds exclusivity over cast talent doing other ads in these sectors for the length of the term.

RATE DETAILS:
Individuals will be paid $250.00 USD per 3-hour day (Interview Session Fee) and if they are selected for the campaign and their image makes the final cut, they will be paid an additional $2,000 USD (“Usage Fee”) with all rights included.
Fees also inclusive of any personal materials (e.g.: photos, footage, individual’s stories/depiction of experiences, events, or interests, etc.) provided by Individual (“Personal Materials”). All Individual’s materials provided must be fully owned by Individual or Individual must have the ability to acquire permission from owner at Agency’s request. Fees also inclusive of use of Individual’s name, image, likeness, persona, biographical information, social media names/handles and social media content (“Individual Attributes”).
Additional Option Compensation (On-Camera Performer Services): If requested, Individual agrees to promptly enter into a separate written agreement with Agency and/or Client, under which Individual will provide On-Camera Performer Services. If exercised, we intend to book the On-Camera Performers at $600.00 USD per 12 shoot hour day and $5,000.00 USD (Buyout/Usage) with all rights included. Overtime (if any) to be paid at $80 USD per hour, or fraction thereof. Prior Day Fittings will be paid at $75 USD per day (if applicable). Prior Day Covid Testing will be paid at $75 USD per test (if applicable). All fees are plus 20% agent’s fee (if applicable).
For clarity, nothing herein obligates Client to exercise the option.
RIGHTS GRANTED:
Materials: Any and all material derived from the session, Individual Attributes and Personal Materials (including, without limitation, all lifts, edits, and versions varying in length, language, product, dubbing, and subtitling of commercial(s) where necessary), B-roll/behind the scenes; audio and still photography shot during commercial filming.
Anticipated Use/Media: Any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, including without limitation all forms of TV media (including free and paid broadcast, local, spot, syndicated. cable, satellite, and on-demand), Internet media (including social, digital, electronic media and OTT), Industrial & Non-Broadcast Public display (including In-Store, Cinema, PR, Award Shows, OOH, Digital Billboard, Archival, Stadium, Retail, Editorial, Meetings, Internal use) and Print Media.
Territory: Worldwide
Term: One (1) year from first use in any media, with the exception of the following media where term is in perpetuity: online, social media, third party non-downloadable sites, internal, archival, historical, behind the scenes, sales presentations, press and PR materials and award shows.
Renewal Term: An additional one (1) year option will be pre-negotiated at a rate of 110% of original usage fee, commencing any time after expiration of the initial term, to be exercised solely at the discretion of Agency and Client.
Please note: Individual’s compensation shall be subject to participation and passing client’s background check. Individuals will not be entitled to any Usage Fee compensation should the Attributes and Personal Materials not be used in the final Materials.
Payment Terms: All talent will be paid through Agency’s talent payroll provider or Production Company (if outside of the United States). Talent to sign Droga5 contracts. Agent invoices will not be accepted.
Bookings: Individuals will be required to sign all contracts prior to interview Session. Individuals will not be considered booked until all contracts are signed. Agency Producer will book the performers with casting agent.
On-Camera Performer Option Rights Granted:
- Materials: Any and all material derived from the session, Individual Attributes and Personal Materials (including, without limitation, all lifts, edits, and versions varying in length, language, product, dubbing, and subtitling of commercial(s) where necessary. B-roll/behind the scenes; audio and still photography shot during commercial filming.
- Option Territory: Worldwide
- Option Anticipated Use/Media: Any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, including without limitation all forms of TV media (including free and paid broadcast, local, spot, syndicated. cable, satellite, and on-demand), Internet media (including social, digital, electronic media and OTT), Industrial & Non-Broadcast Public display (including In-Store, Cinema, PR, Award Shows, OOH, Digital Billboard, Archival, Stadium, Retail, Editorial, Meetings, Internal use) and Print Media.
- Option Term: One (1) year from first use in any media, with the exception of the following media where term is in perpetuity: online, social media, third party non-downloadable sites, internal, archival, historical, behind the scenes, sales presentations, press and PR materials and award shows
- Option Renewal Term: Client shall have the option to extend the Term for an additional consecutive one (1) year period (the “Option Renewal Term”). Additional fee equal to 115% of the original License Fee specified for the applicable use above, payable within thirty (30) business days after commencement of the Option Term.
- Exclusivity: Social Media Platforms, Mobile Communication Apps, Software and Gaming (incl. AR/VR Hardware) and Technology.
- Please note: On-Camera Performers will not be entitled to any Usage Fee compensation should they not be in the foreground and the performer’s face is not recognizable for one or more seconds in the final materials when screened as the viewer would see it, or should the Materials not be used.

Commercial Audition Tips
It’s important to remember that a commercial audition differs from other acting auditions. While you may be used to preparing for stage or film auditions, commercial audition preparation requires a different approach. Here are some tips on how to prepare for your next commercial audition:
- Read the script carefully and thoroughly. Make sure you understand the scene’s context and what it is trying to convey. Take note of any specific instructions you are given, such as character traits or emotions that need to be obtained during the scene.
- Practice your lines multiple times until they become second nature. Rehearse with friends and family members who can also give you feedback on your performance!
- Bring a positive attitude to the audition. Remember that you are there to showcase your talent and be your best self! Be confident and smile throughout the audition, making you stand out from other actors.
- Stay moderate with your performance. Keep it simple and natural – don’t try to overact or underact for the role. The casting directors are looking for someone who can stay in character while still being themselves.
- After your audition, follow up with a thank-you note or email thanking the casting director for their time and consideration. This shows that you respect their work and appreciate the opportunity to audition for them, which could help you get future auditions.
