Cena and Momoa first crossed paths while filming the final installments of Fast and Furious. While Warner Bros. has yet to divulge plot details, those familiar with the production have likened it to an action-packed thrill ride similar to that of True Lies or even The Killer! Before Mark and Brian Gunn took the lead of Warner Bros. DC Films Unit, it was already packaged and set for production by John Rickard and Peter Safran. This script is said to be penned by the Gunn brothers themselves.
If you’re familiar with blockbuster hits, you’ve seen both Cena and Momoa in the Warner Bros. Pictures lineup, most notably as the star of DC’s Aquaman franchise and Dune. Jason Momoa and John Cena have previously partnered with Safran on the Aquaman production and The Suicide Squad, for which Cena was an integral member. His HBO Max original series Peacemaker is a testament to his prowess in front of the camera.
Unfortunately, no details regarding when this movie will be released are available.
