According to an exclusive report from Variety, season three of The White Lotus will transport viewers to the beautiful country of Thailand.
Mike White’s The White Lotus has achieved tremendous success after its first two seasons, shot in beautiful Four Seasons resorts across Hawaii and Italy. With the series now making its way to Southeast Asia, it will be hosted at one of the four magnificent properties owned by a renowned luxury hotel giant in Thailand. The properties are dispersed across Thailand, encompassing cities such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, and even the legendary Golden Triangle. From bustling urban landscapes to stunning exotic beaches and lush jungles, the selection of resorts available will provide a captivating backdrop for your vacation story.
Previously, White had intimated that season three could be situated in Asia and highlight topics such as “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.” After Season 2, he said in a short video clip, “The first season highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. “I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”
Although production for the third season has yet to commence, those near filmings have revealed that White has been traversing Thailand extensively to explore potential shooting locations. The series’ first season was recognized with an outstanding 10 Emmy awards, and Jennifer Coolidge’s performance earned her a Golden Globe last year.
