The highly acclaimed Academy Award-winning director of Summer of Soul, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, is set to lead Disney in reinventing the classic tale of The Aristocats.
In addition to directing, Questlove will take on executive production and music supervision duties for the project. Following recent animated films like Sonic the Hedgehog and Space Jam: A New Legacy, the upcoming Aristocats movie promises a captivating combination of live-action and computer animation.
The original movie, which portrays a Parisian family of cats who must fight for their rightful inheritance, has claimed an impressive box office revenue of $191 million USD.
