Get ready ‘Star Wars‘ fans – the highly anticipated spinoff series, “The Acolyte,” is set to launch on Disney+ in 2024!
At the Star Wars Celebration in London, Lucasfilm unveiled many thrilling developments in the never-ending universe of Star Wars. During the event, a production imprint unveiled The Acolyte’s first look to present guests (sadly, it still needs to be released online), and they also revealed that its launch window will be sometime in 2024.
In 2020, Disney revealed that a new series was to take place in the High Republic’s last days when it was assumed the Sith had been eliminated and Jedi were at their peak. Noteworthily, the series is situated one hundred years before Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, setting a record for being the furthest back in time any live-action Star Wars project has ever been developed.
Lee Jung-Jae and Amandla Stenberg lead this project, with Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson, and Carrie-Anne Moss also appearing. While Leslye Headland, the co-creator of Russian Doll, is steering the showrunner’s chair on this series.
Engadget’s first impression of the film showcased a Jedi temple, wars with Moss, and clips of Jedis brandishing their blazing lightsabers in unison. Additionally, they revealed that there was an unmistakable golden lightsaber to be found in this thrilling sequence. A tagline stated, “This is about power and who is allowed to use it.”
