Paving the Way for a New Series, The Pirate Bay Follows the Epic Tale of BitTorrent’s Growth and Decline.
Dynamic Television has gained worldwide rights to the Swedish series The Pirate Bay, which is sure to solidify them as one of the leading players in global entertainment.
Reports indicate that the upcoming show will track Peter Sunde, Fredrik Neij, and Gottfrid Swartholm as they build BitTorrent in 2003, swiftly becoming a hub for illegally distributing copyrighted material such as films, television programs, books, computer software, and more. “It’s a classic rise and fall story, a tragedy about flying too close to the sun, but also a timeless story of a generational conflict,” Piotr Marciniak, the head writer of our team, shared his insights. This autumn, B-Reel Films, and Swedish public broadcaster SVT will start production with Jens Sjögren directing and Patrik Gyllström as the episodic writer. It’s sure to be an exciting experience!
“We are thrown between the driving perspectives – quick cuts between the basement full of computers to the conference rooms of Hollywood, from the offices in Washington via the concern felt at government offices in Stockholm, to meetings with financiers at Lake Geneva and then finally we’re back in the safety of the basement. A full-throttle journey infused with paranoia, humor, and deadly serious technical, emotional, and political challenges,” Sjögren further noted.
Stay tuned for an exclusive sneak peek and the highly anticipated release date!
