John Cena and Dua Lipa will appear as mermaids in the upcoming Barbie movie.
During a panel at CinemaCon, Warner Bros. Discovery shared exciting news about Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie. They revealed exclusive footage that showed John Cena’s role in the film, building on the anticipation already high after the release of the first trailer.
The video footage displayed a significant disagreement between the Barbie and Ken models living in Barbie Land. The featured variations included Kate McKinnon’s “Weird Barbie” and John Cena as a long-haired King Ocean merman Ken. The distinctive Ken character portrayed by the WWE athlete is anticipated to join Dua Lipa, who also acts as a mermaid and sings the film’s theme song, which is a cover of the famous “Barbie Girl” by Aqua.
Cena has joined a cast that already includes famous actors like Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the lead and supporting actors such as Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Will Ferrell, and others.
The movie “Barbie” by Greta Gerwig will be released in theaters on July 21.
