The entire Sandler Family is coming together for an upcoming Netflix movie by Adam Sandler. In his latest project titled “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” Sandler is collaborating with his long-term partners, his daughters Sadie and Sunny, and his wife, Jackie Sandler.
Adam takes on the role of the father, Danny Friedman, while his real-life twins, Sunny and Sadie, take on the roles of his on-screen children, Stacy Friedman and Ronnie Friedman, respectively. Sandler has also brought on board a talented lineup of colleagues for the film, including familiar collaborators such as Idina Menzel, who plays the mother of the Friedman family, and Luis Guzmán. Additionally, Sarah Sherman from Saturday Night Live, who recently opened for Sandler during a comedy tour, joins the cast.
This coming-of-age comedy draws inspiration from Fiona Rosenbloom’s book of the same name. The official description on Netflix provides a glimpse into the storyline: “Close friends Stacy and Lydia are both planning their unforgettable bat mitzvahs. However, their plans take an unexpected turn as a charismatic boy, and the complexities of middle school drama jeopardize everything they’ve worked for.”
“You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah” represents the latest installment of Sandler’s substantial $250 million Netflix contract. The film is scheduled to join Sandler’s existing collection of Netflix hits, including “Hustle,” “Murder Mystery 2,” and “Hubie Halloween.” It will be available for streaming on the platform from August 25 onwards.
