Jim Carey Drops from Dumb and Dumber Sequel

Jim Carey, last seen in Mr. Poppers Penguins, has thrown a fairly large spanner in the works of the planned Dumb & Dumber sequel by dropping out of the film to reprise his role of Lloyd Christmas.  The Farrelly Brothers were all set to go on the sequel to the film which helped launch them on to the big stage.  Carey has sited a lack of studio backing from New Line and Warners.  Quite what that means is anyone’s guess and it could simply be a ploy by the actor to get more money.  For now though it’s hard to see how a Dumb & Dumber film can go ahead without one of it’s two key cast members.  Jeff Daniels is, in theory, still on board to return.  Source – The Hollywood Reporter
