The Brooklyn Nets are now looking for the next generation of gifted young dancers to join the Brooklyn Nets Kids dance team. There will be open auditions for the dance team on Friday, August 24th at 4 p.m. it will be at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center at 161 Ashland Place at the LIU Brooklyn campus. Registration will begin at 3 p.m. and dancers must arrive by 4 p.m to participate.
Tanisha Scott will be the new choreographer and Head Coach of the Brooklyn Nets Kids. Scott has worked with Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Sean Paul, and Jay-z. The dance team will be showcased all around the world, and in front of thousands of Brooklyn Nets home games at the new Brookyln nets stadium and at events in the New York metropolitan area.
Specifications
Brookyln Nets Kids are seeking boys and girls ages 6 to 13 with at least two years of dance training. All dancers will be required to demonstrate their ability to learn and perform several dance routines. Tumbling and break dancing skills are nice but they are not required for participation. Participants should wear dance shoes.
Once the dancers are selected they must be available to attend rehersals in Brooklyn once a week. There will be a Workshop on Wednesday, August 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at The Arnold and Marie Scwartz Center at 1 University Plaza on the LIU Brooklyn Campus – for those trying to get an edge on the competition!
